A page fed into the scanner the wrong way, a landscape table in the middle of a portrait report, a double-sided scan where every back page is upside down: rotated pages are one of the most common PDF annoyances. Turning the view in a reader only lasts until you close the file. This tool saves the rotation into the PDF itself.
Pick the angle, choose which pages to turn and press Convert. Rotation in a PDF is a property of each page, so the content is not redrawn: text stays selectable, images keep their quality and the file size barely changes. Everything happens in your browser and the document is never uploaded.
How page rotation works in a PDF
Every PDF page carries a rotation value of 0, 90, 180 or 270 degrees that tells viewers how to display it. This tool adds your chosen angle to each selected page's current value, so turning a page that is already at 90 by another 90 gives 180. Because only that value changes, the operation is lossless and fast even for documents with hundreds of pages.
The angles are named the way you see them. 90° right turns the top of the page towards the right, clockwise; 90° left turns it counterclockwise; 180° turns it upside down. If the first attempt goes the wrong way, add the rotated file again and turn it by 180°, since the change is cumulative.
Common rotation fixes
Scans that came out sideways or upside down
Document feeders and phone scanning apps often produce pages lying on their side. Rotating All pages fixes a whole batch that was scanned the same way in a single pass.
Double-sided scans with flipped backs
Some scanners and copiers turn every second page upside down when scanning both sides of a sheet. Choosing Even with 180° corrects just those pages and leaves the fronts alone.
Landscape tables in a portrait document
A wide spreadsheet printed sideways reads better when its pages display upright on screen. Use Range with something like 14-16 to rotate only the pages that need it.
Selecting which pages turn
Pages offers All, the default, plus Odd, Even and Range. Odd means pages 1, 3, 5 and so on; Even means 2, 4, 6. With Range, a Page ranges box appears where you type single pages and spans separated by commas, such as 1-3, 5, 8-10. A page mentioned twice is still rotated only once, an open range like 20- runs to the last page, and spaces do not matter.
If a range does not fit the document, for example page 30 in a 24-page PDF, the file is marked with a page range error. Change the range and press Retry failed files to rotate it without adding the file again. You can also add several PDFs at once; each is rotated with the same angle and page selection and saved with -rotated added to its name.
Como usar esta ferramenta
- Drop the PDF on the box above, or click Choose files (up to 200 MB).
- Under Rotate by, choose 90° right, 180° or 90° left.
- Under Pages, choose All, Odd, Even or Range. For Range, type the pages, such as 2-4, 7.
- Press Convert, then download the rotated PDF.
Limitations
- Only quarter turns are possible. A scan that is skewed by a few degrees cannot be straightened here.
- Password-protected PDFs need their password removed first.
- There is no page-by-page preview. Check the result in your PDF viewer and run it again if a page needs a different angle.
- One angle applies to every selected page in a run.
- Saving the rotation rewrites the file, so a digital signature it contains will no longer validate.
