Most apps refuse a name or message made only of spaces, because they trim ordinary whitespace before checking whether the field is empty. Invisible characters get around that: they are real characters that the app counts, yet they draw nothing, or almost nothing, on screen. That is how people end up with a blank game nickname, an empty-looking WhatsApp message or extra line spacing in a bio.
This generator offers four different invisible characters, because each app filters them differently. Pick one, set the Number of characters, and press the copy button. Nothing is displayed in the preview, of course, so the page tells you how many invisible characters are ready on your clipboard and shows the code point of the one you chose.
The four invisible characters
Hangul filler, U+3164, is technically a letter from the Korean alphabet that was used as a placeholder in older Korean encodings. Because Unicode classifies it as a letter rather than a space, many apps and games that strip whitespace let it through, which makes it the most popular choice for blank names. Braille blank, U+2800, is the empty Braille cell: a symbol with the width of a character but no dots. It survives in many chats and profiles where spaces collapse.
Zero-width space, U+200B, has no width at all and marks a place where a line may break. It is useful for splitting a long word or URL, or for hiding a character between letters, but many sites trim it, so it often fails as a blank name. Invisible separator, U+2063, is a formatting mark intended for mathematics that also renders as nothing. It is a fallback for when the others are rejected, though support varies. On some devices or fonts, Hangul filler and Braille blank may show a faint box or a wider gap instead of pure emptiness.
Common uses
Blank names in games
Players in games such as Free Fire use Hangul filler to create a nickname that looks empty. Acceptance depends on the game and its current version, so if it is refused, try Braille blank.
Empty-looking messages and posts
Some chat apps refuse to send a blank message. A single Braille blank or Hangul filler usually passes as content, which is handy for a playful mystery message or for testing how an app handles empty text.
Spacing in bios and captions
Instagram and other apps may remove extra blank lines. Putting a Braille blank on an otherwise empty line can keep the gap, which helps separate sections of a bio or caption.
Hidden breaks in text
A zero-width space inside a long URL or word lets it wrap on narrow screens, and placed in a word like a hashtag or mention it can stop some apps from turning it into a link.
Choosing a character and a count
Each character card shows its name, its code point and a short note on where it tends to work. The selected one is highlighted, and Hangul filler is chosen when the page opens. Number of characters accepts 1 to 10,000; one is enough for most blank names, while a longer string helps when an app needs a minimum length or you want a wide blank gap.
The copy button is labelled with the count, for example Copy 3, and puts exactly that many characters on your clipboard. The line under the button confirms how many invisible characters are ready and repeats the code point, which helps if you later need to identify the character in an editor. Everything is generated in your browser.
طريقة الاستخدام
- Select a character: Hangul filler, Braille blank, Zero-width space or Invisible separator.
- Set the Number of characters you need.
- Press the Copy button.
- Paste into the name, message or bio field, then save or send and check how it looks.
- If the app rejects it or trims it away, come back and try another character.
Things to be aware of
- Whether a blank character is accepted depends on each app, game and version. None of them works everywhere, and an app that accepts one today may block it after an update.
- Some platforms treat blank names or messages as spam or impersonation risks. Follow each community's rules.
- Invisible characters left in passwords, code, spreadsheets or search terms cause confusing errors because nobody can see them. Remove them when copying text into those places.
- Screen readers may announce these characters or read nothing, so blank names can confuse users who rely on them.
