Vector Editor is a full illustration program that opens inside this page. It draws with shapes instead of pixels, so a logo made here prints sharp on a business card and on a billboard alike. The toolbox holds the pen and curvature tools, selection and direct selection, rectangles, ellipses, polygons and stars, type, gradients, the eyedropper and transform tools, and the menus carry what a desktop vector application is expected to have: pathfinder operations, blends, patterns, repeats, envelope distortion, a perspective grid, live effects and a layer stack.

Nothing you draw is sent anywhere. The editor is delivered as a program that runs in your browser, the same way this site's converters do, and the artwork lives in the tab's memory until you save it as a download. The first visit fetches about 24 MB; the browser then keeps the program cached, so returning takes a couple of seconds instead.

What this vector editor can do

The workspace follows the familiar arrangement: tools on the left, the artboard in the middle, Properties, Layers and Libraries on the right, and File, Edit, Object, Type, Select, Effect, View and Window menus along the top. Paths are real Bézier curves with anchors and handles that the direct selection tool edits one point at a time. Shapes can be combined with unite, minus front, intersect and exclude, which stay exact even on complicated curves, and the shape builder merges overlapping regions with a drag. Fills and strokes take solid colours, linear and radial gradients, gradient meshes and patterns, and an appearance can stack several of them on one object.

Type is set on a point, inside an area or along a path, with the fonts bundled in the editor, and it keeps its character and paragraph settings until you expand it to outlines. The Effect menu applies vector effects such as warps, distortions, 3D revolve and stylize, and raster effects such as blur, pixelate, sharpen and texture, all live and editable later. Documents hold several artboards and start from presets for Letter, A4, a web page, a phone screen, a postcard or a square social post. Files open and save in the editor's own format, and SVG, PDF and EPS move artwork in and out; PNG, JPEG and WebP exports cover the web, and Export for Screens writes several sizes at once.

When to use an online vector editor

A logo or icon that has to scale

Trace or draw a mark with the pen, clean up the anchors, give it a gradient and export it as SVG for the website and as PDF for print. The same file serves a favicon and a shop sign without redrawing.

Fixing an SVG someone sent you

Open the file, move the misaligned element, change a colour or the text, and save it again. You need neither a desktop licence nor an installation on a borrowed machine; a current browser is enough.

Illustrations and posters

Shapes, blends, gradient meshes and live effects build a poster or an illustration step by step, with the layer stack keeping the elements organised. Export a flattened PNG when it is done or keep the editable file for later.

How the editor runs in your browser

The whole application is compiled to WebAssembly and loaded into a frame served from this site, so no third-party host is involved. The interface and the canvas are drawn with WebGPU where the browser provides it and with WebGL2 elsewhere, which is why a desktop browser with one of the two is needed: current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on a laptop or desktop all qualify. The vector geometry itself is computed on the processor, with multithreaded rendering where the browser allows it, so a document with thousands of shapes still redraws quickly.

Opening a file uses the browser's file picker or a drag onto the window, and reads the bytes into memory. Save, Save as PDF and the Export commands trigger ordinary browser downloads, because a web page cannot write anywhere else on your disk. The build served here is updated together with the rest of the site, so a new version goes live only once it has passed the same checks as every other tool.

Как пользоваться инструментом

  1. Let the editor load. The first visit downloads about 24 MB; afterwards it starts from the browser cache.
  2. Pick a preset on the start screen or open an SVG, PDF or EPS with File > Open. Click into the editor once so keyboard shortcuts reach it rather than the page.
  3. Draw with the pen, shape and type tools, combine shapes with the pathfinder, and arrange the result on layers. Use the Fullscreen button for a larger canvas.
  4. Save the editable document with File > Save, or export SVG, PDF, PNG, JPEG or WebP from File > Export. The file lands in your Downloads folder.

Limitations

  • A desktop browser with WebGL2 or WebGPU is required. Phones show a notice instead of the editor; tablets can open it, but the tools expect a mouse or a pen.
  • The first load is about 24 MB, the largest of the editors here, so a slow connection takes a while the first time. Later visits use the browser cache.
  • This is a capable editor for everyday work, not a complete replacement for desktop software: some raster effects, scripting and the more advanced 3D features are missing or partial, and complex files from other programs may not look identical.
  • Only the fonts bundled with the editor are available for type; the browser cannot read the fonts installed on your computer. Text in other programs' files is kept as type where the font exists and otherwise substituted.
  • There is no autosave. Save or export before closing or reloading the page, because the document lives only in the tab's memory.

Частые вопросы

Can I open and save SVG files?

Yes. SVG opens with its paths, groups, fills, gradients and text, and File > Export writes SVG back, so a file can travel between this editor and Illustrator, Inkscape, Affinity Designer or a code editor. PDF and EPS open and export as well; the editor's own format keeps everything, including effects and appearance stacks.

Is my artwork uploaded?

No. The editor runs inside your browser tab. The files you open are read from your disk into memory, and saving or exporting is a normal download. This site only delivers the program's own files, which is no different from loading a page's JavaScript.

Does it have a pen tool and boolean operations?

Yes. The pen draws Bézier paths with anchors and handles, the curvature tool draws smooth curves by placing points, and the Pathfinder commands unite, subtract, intersect and exclude shapes exactly. The shape builder merges or removes overlapping regions with a drag.

Can I turn a photo or a PNG logo into vectors?

Raster images can be placed into a document and cropped, masked or used in a mosaic, but the quickest way to get editable paths from a PNG or JPG is the Image to SVG tool on this site: it traces the picture in a lighter widget, lets you tune the colour count and smoothing, and the SVG it writes opens here for the finishing touches.

Which keyboard shortcuts work?

The common ones from desktop vector editors: V for selection, A for direct selection, P for the pen, M for rectangle, L for ellipse, T for type, G for gradient, Z for zoom and the space bar to pan, plus Ctrl or Cmd with Z, S, G, D and A for undo, save, group, transform again and select all. Click inside the editor first so the keys reach it.
