Photo Editor is the site's full image editor, and it runs inside your browser. It is not a filter box or a cropping widget: it is a complete editing application with a layer stack, masks, adjustment layers, curves, levels, selection tools, type, brushes and the keyboard shortcuts you already know from desktop photo software. It opens and saves real PSD files, so a document started here can continue on the desktop and the other way round, and it exports PNG and JPEG for the web.

Everything happens on your computer. The editor is served by this site like any other page; once it has loaded, your photos never leave the tab. There is no account, no watermark and no upload queue, and closing the page clears the memory. The first visit downloads about 11 MB, which the browser then keeps cached, so later visits open in a second or two.

What this photo editor can do

The workspace follows the layout professionals expect: a canvas in the middle, tools on the left, layers and properties on the right, and menus for file, edit, image, layer, select and filter operations. Layers can be grouped, reordered, blended with the usual modes and given a layer mask painted in black and white. Adjustment layers for curves, levels, hue and saturation, brightness and contrast, colour balance and black and white sit above the pixels and can be edited again at any time, so a correction is never baked into the photo. Selections come from the marquee, lasso and magic wand tools and can be feathered, inverted or turned into a mask.

Retouching tools include brushes with size, hardness and opacity, an eraser, a clone stamp, a healing brush, a gradient tool and fill. Text layers keep their type editable, with the fonts bundled in the editor. Transform handles rotate, scale and skew a layer, and the crop tool trims the canvas. The editor reads PSD files with their layers, masks, groups and blend modes, and writes PSD back, so edits made here survive in Photoshop, Affinity Photo, GIMP or Krita. For publishing, Export writes a flattened PNG or JPEG at the quality you choose.

When to use an online photo editor

Editing a PSD on a machine without Photoshop

A client sends layered artwork and you are on a laptop that has no editing software installed. Open the PSD here, change the text layer or swap a colour, save the PSD again and send it back, without installing anything or signing up for a trial.

Retouching a photo before you share it

Remove a blemish with the healing brush, lift the shadows with a curve, straighten the horizon and export a JPEG for the web. The adjustments stay on their own layers, so you can undo one without losing the rest.

Working on photos that must stay private

ID scans, medical images, unreleased product shots and family photos should not sit on an online editor's server. Because the whole application runs in your browser, nothing is transmitted, which also makes it usable offline once the files are cached.

How the editor runs in your browser

The editor is compiled to WebAssembly, a format that modern browsers run at near-native speed. The page you are reading embeds it in a frame served from this same site, so no third-party host is involved and the browser's same-origin rules apply. Rendering uses WebGPU when the browser offers it and falls back to WebGL2 otherwise, which is why a desktop browser with one of the two is required: current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on a laptop or desktop all qualify. Touch screens work for simple tasks, but the tools are designed for a mouse or a pen tablet.

Opening a file uses the browser's file picker and reads the bytes into memory. Saving and exporting trigger normal browser downloads to your Downloads folder, because a web page cannot write files anywhere else. The editor is updated together with the rest of the site: a new build goes live only once it has passed the same checks as every other tool, so the behaviour you see today will not change under you without notice.

طريقة الاستخدام

  1. Wait a moment while the editor loads. The first visit downloads about 11 MB; afterwards it starts from the browser cache.
  2. Open a photo or a PSD with File > Open, or drag a file onto the canvas. Click into the editor once so keyboard shortcuts reach it.
  3. Edit with layers, masks, adjustment layers, selections, brushes and type. Use the Fullscreen button above the canvas for more room.
  4. Save a layered PSD with File > Save, or export a flattened PNG or JPEG with File > Export. The file lands in your Downloads folder.

Limitations

  • A desktop browser with WebGL2 or WebGPU is required. Phones show a notice instead of the editor; tablets can open it, but the interface expects a mouse or a pen.
  • The first load is about 11 MB, so a slow connection takes a while the first time. Later visits use the browser cache.
  • The editor is still growing. Some features of desktop editors are missing or partial, for example smart objects, layer styles and some filters, and a complex PSD may not look identical.
  • Only the fonts bundled with the editor are available for text layers; the browser cannot read the fonts installed on your computer.
  • There is no autosave. Save or export before closing or reloading the page, because the document lives only in the tab's memory.

الأسئلة الشائعة

Is this really Photoshop?

No. Photo Editor is this site's own browser editor. It follows the layout, shortcuts and layer model that desktop photo editors share, so the skills transfer, and it opens and saves PSD files, but it is a separate program and some advanced features are not there yet.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. The editor runs entirely inside your browser tab. Files you open are read from your disk into memory, and saving or exporting is a normal browser download. This site only delivers the editor's own files, which is the same as loading a page's JavaScript.

Can I open and save PSD files with layers?

Yes. Layers, groups, masks, blend modes and opacity are read from and written to PSD, so a file can move between this editor and Photoshop, Affinity Photo, GIMP or Krita. Features the editor does not support yet may be flattened or dropped, so keep the original file.

Why does it need WebGL2 or WebGPU?

The canvas is drawn on the graphics card, which is what makes brushing, zooming and live adjustment layers smooth on large images. Every current desktop browser has WebGL2; WebGPU is used where available and is faster. If the page says neither is available, update the browser or enable hardware acceleration in its settings.

Which keyboard shortcuts work?

The common ones from desktop photo editors: V for move, M for marquee, L for lasso, B for brush, E for eraser, T for type, C for crop, Ctrl or Cmd with Z, S, T, J, D, A and E for undo, save, transform, duplicate layer, deselect, select all and merge. Click inside the editor first so the keys reach it rather than the page.
