PDF Editor is the site's workbench for PDF files, and it runs inside your browser tab. It is built around the jobs people actually have with a PDF: reading it comfortably, finding a phrase, writing comments in the margin, highlighting a paragraph, typing into a form, turning a page the right way up, pulling three pages out of a report or stapling two files into one. Each of those is a tool in the editor's catalogue, and the result is saved back to a PDF that any other reader opens.

Because the application is delivered by this site and executed by your browser, the document stays on your computer from the moment you open it to the moment you download the result. There is no upload, no account and no queue. The first visit fetches about 14 MB, which the browser then keeps in its cache, so the editor opens quickly the next time.

What this PDF editor can do

Open a document and it renders with care for the details: embedded fonts, right-to-left and complex scripts, transparency, shadings and the optional layers an author may have added. The view offers single page, continuous and two-up layouts, rotation, a full-screen mode and a distraction-free reading mode, in a light or dark theme. Search finds a phrase as you type and steps through the matches, bookmarks and page thumbnails keep you oriented in long files, and selected text copies out in reading order, which matters for columns and non-Latin scripts. A command search (Ctrl+K) lists every tool, and the All tools panel browses them by task.

Commenting works the way reviewers expect: sticky notes, highlight, underline, strikethrough and squiggly marks on text, text boxes, freehand ink, rectangles, ovals, lines and arrows, all collected in a comment list with threaded replies. Forms show every field with its value, so you can fill in a questionnaire or an application and save it. Organize pages lays the document out as a grid of thumbnails where you rotate, delete, move and insert pages, including pages from another file. Combine files merges several PDFs into one with a bookmark per file, Extract copies chosen pages into a new document, and Split cuts a document every n pages or before the pages you name. Document properties let you read and edit the title, author, subject and keywords and see the fonts, page size and permissions; password-protected files open with their password, and a document can be protected before you save it.

When to use a PDF editor in the browser

Reviewing a draft someone sent you

Open the draft, highlight the sentences that need work, leave sticky notes with your reasoning and reply to the notes already there. Save, and the author sees your comments in whatever reader they use, because they are stored as standard PDF annotations.

Fixing a scan before you file it

A scanned contract came in with two pages upside down and a blank page in the middle. Open Organize pages, rotate the two, delete the blank, move the appendix to the end and save. The text and signatures on every page stay exactly as they were.

Filling in a form without printing it

Type into the fields of a registration or tax form, tick the boxes, check the field list to make sure nothing was missed and download the completed file. The form never leaves your computer, which is the right place for a document full of personal details.

How the editor runs in your browser

The whole application, including its PDF parser and renderer, is compiled to WebAssembly and runs at near-native speed inside the page. It draws on the graphics card through WebGPU where the browser has it and through WebGL2 otherwise, so a current desktop version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari is required. The frame is served from this site, so no third-party host is involved. Pages render in isolation, which means a damaged file still shows the pages that can be read.

Opening a file reads it through the browser's file picker (or a drop onto the window) into memory. Saving writes the changed document as a normal browser download; the original on your disk is untouched until you replace it yourself. Edits are kept in an undo history, so a rotation or a deleted page can be taken back even after a save. Preferences such as the theme live in the browser's storage for this site and nowhere else.

Cara memakai alat ini

  1. Wait for the editor to load. The first visit downloads about 14 MB; later visits open it from the browser cache.
  2. Click Open or drop a PDF onto the editor window. Click inside the editor once so that keyboard shortcuts such as Ctrl+K and Ctrl+F reach it.
  3. Pick a tool from the All tools panel: Read, Add comments, Fill & Sign, Organize pages, Combine files or Protect. Use the Fullscreen button above the frame for more room.
  4. Save the result with the save button or Ctrl+S. The browser downloads the new PDF to your Downloads folder; your original file is not modified.

Limitations

  • A desktop browser with WebGL2 or WebGPU is required. On phones the page shows a notice instead; tablets can open the editor, but it expects a mouse or a pen.
  • The first load is about 14 MB. On a slow connection the first start takes a while; afterwards the files come from the browser cache.
  • This is a capable editor for everyday work, not a complete replacement for a desktop PDF suite. Some entries in the tool catalogue are marked with the milestone that will bring them, and editing the existing text of a page is limited.
  • Very large documents with hundreds of high-resolution scans need a lot of memory, because the whole file is held in the tab. A desktop machine with a few gigabytes free copes; a small laptop may struggle.
  • There is no autosave to disk: a web page cannot write files on its own. Save before closing or reloading the tab.

Pertanyaan yang sering diajukan

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The editor is a program that runs inside your browser. The file you open is read from your disk into the tab's memory, every change happens there, and saving is a plain browser download. The only network traffic is the editor's own files, which this site serves like the JavaScript of any other page.

Can I fill in and save a PDF form?

Yes. Forms with interactive fields show each field with its current value; type into text fields, tick checkboxes, choose from lists and save. The values are written into the form fields of the PDF, so the filled file opens correctly in other readers. A form that is only a scanned picture has no fields; add text boxes from the comment tools instead.

Will my comments show up in other PDF readers?

Yes. Sticky notes, highlights, underlines, drawings and text boxes are stored as standard PDF annotations, the same kind other readers create, so reviewers see them with their own software. Replies keep their thread.

Can I merge, split or extract pages?

Yes. Combine files joins several PDFs into one document and gives each file a bookmark; Extract copies the pages you select into a new file; Split divides a document every few pages or before the pages you choose. Links, form fields and attachments are carried along. For a quick merge or split without opening an editor, the Merge PDF and Split PDF tools on this site do the same job in one step.

What about password-protected PDFs?

A protected document opens once you enter its password, and the editor respects the permissions its author set; the owner password lifts them. You can also protect a document yourself before saving. The protection stays on the file when it is saved again.
