Convert and trim audio files without uploading them.

How these tools work

The audio tools run FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly inside your browser, so voice memos, interviews and unreleased tracks stay on your device. The engine is fetched once from this site the first time you convert and kept by your browser after that; the recordings you process are never uploaded.

Convert Audio turns MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, AAC or FLAC files into MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A or OGG, with a bitrate choice for the compressed formats and batch conversion for whole folders. Trim Audio draws a waveform so you can cut a song, podcast or recording down to the part you want and smooth the edges with a fade in and a fade out. MP4 to MP3 pulls the soundtrack out of a video and saves it as an MP3 at 128 to 320 kbps.

Voice Recorder records from any microphone and saves WebM, WAV or MP3. To clean up a recording, Normalize Audio brings files to one loudness such as -14 LUFS, Volume Booster makes a quiet file louder with a limiter against clipping, and Noise Reduction lowers hiss, hum and fan noise in speech. Merge Audio joins tracks end to end or mixes them together.

Files can be up to 500 MB each. Lossless WAV and FLAC are the right choice for editing and archiving, while MP3 and M4A are much smaller and play on practically any phone, car stereo or speaker.

Frequently asked questions

Are my audio files uploaded?

No. Conversion and trimming happen in your browser. Only the FFmpeg engine is downloaded from this site the first time; your recordings are never transmitted.

Which MP3 bitrate should I pick?

192 kbps is a good default for music and 128 kbps is plenty for speech. 320 kbps is the highest MP3 setting and suits songs you want to keep at the best quality the format allows.

Can I get the audio out of a video?

Yes. MP4 to MP3 extracts the soundtrack from MP4 videos and saves it as an MP3 at the bitrate you choose, without touching the original video.
